Cette journée n'est pas indispensable, mais fortement conseillée aux personnes qui n'ont jamais mis des crampons sur un glacier, ni grimpé encordés sur un site-école d'escalade. Le matin, nous irons découvrir les bases du cramponnage sur la Mer de Glace... Montées, descentes, utilisation du piolet.. sont au programme, afin de vous familiariser avec ces drôles d'engins! L'après-midi, sur un site d'escalade, vous découvrirez les bases des techniques d'escalade et de descente, ainsi que quelques manipulations de cordes.

Vous serez ainsi prêt pour votre première course en Haute Montagne !

Discover the technics of mountaineering: This day is not obligatory but i advise you to do it if you never walk with crampons, if you never climb with rope..The Mont-Blanc range offers a lot of high mountain routes for beginners, intermediates or advanced. If you are a total beginner, before your first high mountain way, it’s very important to do this long-day.

In the morning - School of Ice:
With the occasion of a glacial excursion on the Glaciar Mer de Glace, you will familiarize yourselves with the techniques of cramponnage and the handling of the ice axe. Possibility of discovering ice axe-traction and of going down in one of the mills from the glacier.

In the afternoon - School of climbing :
In High Mountain, the routes are often mixed (rock / snow / ice) and ask for a minimum of ease on the rock and the capacity to carry out some steps of climbing. This day will enable you to familiarize yourselves with the techniques and the hardware of security, and sufficiently to enable you to be at ease in the first routes that I will propose to you. It will also enable me to evaluate your capacities.

After this preparation , you will be ready to enjoy your first high mountain way !
